The most puzzling thing facing a rebranding project by designers working on it is whether or not the heritage of the brand should be considered or should you just scratch it and make something fresh. Although for the last 5 years or so we have seen brands approach a more minimalist or modern look, something more cleaner and digitally easy on the eyes design; we are also seeing many brands going back to their roots and reviving old logos with a bit of touch up.
We see this happen with Burger King recently and even McDonald's new packaging style is going back to a more "retro" look that respectfully ties the brands heritage in the past. So how important is heritage? Are we going to see more of a retro style coming back in the near future?
